Nonappropriated Fund Attendance and Leave

DOD policy covering annual and sick leave for Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) employees is contained in DODI 1400.25, Volume 1406, “DOD Civilian Personnel Management System: NAF Attendance and Leave.” DCPAS develops, coordinates, publishes, maintains, and oversees compliance with the NAF Attendance and Leave policy. Regular category and approved flexible NAF employees accrue annual and sick leave hours while in a pay status. Some of the government-wide regulations and laws administered by the Office of Personnel Management regarding leave (such as the Family and Medical Leave Act, Home Leave, Donor Leave, Bereavement Leave, Court Leave and Military Leave) are administratively extended to NAF employees.
