DoD Civilians: Ready to Boost Your Mental Health with REACH‑C?

You’ve come to the right place! REACH-C is a new, online self-paced course for DoD civilian personnel developed by Defense Personnel Analytics Center (DPAC) and Defense Civilian Personnel Advisory Service (DCPAS).

Drawing on evidence-based research, REACH-C will teach you four critical skills: self-advocacy, social connection, work-life balance, and offering support to colleagues who are struggling. Most importantly, REACH-C will help you identify the stressors in your life and find the help you need to thrive.

REACH-C takes about 2 hours to complete at your own pace, with the flexibility to take breaks. In fact, we encourage learners to take their time and fully engage with the course exercises to get the most out of the experience.


DoD Supervisors and Leaders: Trying to Enhance Your Leadership Skills?

As a DoD leader, you may be considering how to create a safe environment where all employees feel valued and empowered to share their thoughts and perform at their best. REACH-C offers a dedicated module for supervisors that focuses on building trust and promoting psychological safety within your team.


The supervisor module takes about 45 minutes to complete and includes several videos featuring Dr. Eric Lang, a social psychologist and Director (2011-2024) of the Defense Personnel and Security Research Center (PERSEREC), along with accompanying exercises that enable you to apply the lessons to your own leadership role.

Be sure to complete the REACH-C course before starting the supervisor module to learn key foundational skills such as self-advocacy, work-life balance, and stress management that apply to everyone.

Components and agency leaders are always looking to take better care of their people, especially as work and life can get stressful. Implementing REACH-C is a great step forward in connecting employees with resources that empower them to manage these challenges effectively.
