Direct Hire Authority
The objective of the DCPAS Direct Hire Authority course is to ensure that Human Resources practitioners are familiar with the direct hire authority provisions. The half-day course agenda covers three modules: 1) Brief summary of Merit System Principles and Prohibited Personnel Practices; 2) Discussion on how the National Defense Authorization Act hiring authorities are developed into DOD policies; and 3) Lesson/discussion on the individual DOD-specific hiring authorities and their diverse features. There are also interactive exercises throughout the course to assist participants in retaining knowledge of the material. The course is offered by request of DOD Components and the maximum number of attendees is 25.
